Refund Policy

Last updated 2026-10-30

This policy sets out how cancellations and refunds work for paid plans and export payments on Cuditing ("the service"), run by eBrain, Inc. ("we"). It is part of our Terms of Service and applies from 2026-10-30.

1. Who sells and who takes payment

  • Orders are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our merchant of record. Paddle resells the service and handles payment, receipts and invoices, sales tax and VAT, and refunds.
  • You enter your card or other payment details directly in Paddle’s checkout. Paddle processes them; we never receive or store card numbers.
  • Charges may appear on your statement under Paddle’s name (for example PADDLE.NET).
  • We provide the service, answer your questions and decide whether a refund is due; Paddle pays the refund out.

2. New subscriptions (monthly and yearly)

  • Ask within 14 days of the first payment and, if you have not substantially used the service in that time, we refund it in full.
  • Substantial use means exporting more than 60 minutes or auto-cutting more than 180 minutes in that time, measured by the length of the recordings you upload.
  • Yearly plans follow the same rule: within 14 days and not substantially used, the full yearly payment is refunded. Otherwise we do not refund the remaining months.
  • After 14 days, or after substantial use, payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund (section 7).

3. Renewals

  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period (monthly or yearly) and are charged on the renewal date until you cancel.
  • Ask within 14 days of a renewal payment and, if you have not exported or auto-cut anything in the renewed period, we refund that renewal in full and end the subscription.

4. Cancelling

  • You can cancel at any time: from the plan page in your account, or through the link in your Paddle receipt or at paddle.net.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • We do not refund part of a period, except as described in sections 2, 3 and 7.
  • Upgrades start right away, and the unused part of your current plan is taken off the new price. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, with no refund of the difference.

5. Export payments (pay-as-you-go minutes)

  • Exports on the Free plan, and exports beyond the hours included in a paid plan, are paid per project at the per-minute rate shown on the pricing page (measured by source length). The Free plan has a minimum charge per project.
  • Within 14 days of payment, if you have not yet used the export it unlocked, we refund it in full.
  • Once the export has been made, the processing has been done and the payment is not refundable.
  • If processing failed or a fault on our side kept you from a usable file, we refund in full, whether or not the export was used.

6. Duplicate and incorrect charges

  • If an order was charged twice, you were charged after cancelling, or a technical error charged the wrong amount, we refund that amount in full as soon as it is confirmed, with no time limit.
  • If you see a charge you do not recognise, please contact us before disputing it with your bank; we can usually sort it out faster.

7. Your rights under consumer law

  • Nothing in this policy limits the rights consumer law gives you. Where the law is more generous than this policy, the law applies.
  • Consumers in Korea: under Article 17(1) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce you may withdraw within 7 days of the contract; our 14-day window includes that period. Exports already made and subscription periods already started count as digital content whose supply has begun, so withdrawal may be limited under Article 17(2); we tell you this at checkout. If the service differs from what was advertised or agreed, you may withdraw within 3 months of receiving it, or within 30 days of when you learned or could have learned of the difference.
  • A payment made by a minor without a legal guardian’s consent can be cancelled by the minor or the guardian.
  • Consumers elsewhere keep the rights their local law gives them, such as the right of withdrawal in the EU and UK. Paddle’s buyer terms (https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms) also apply.
  • If we remove paid features or close the service, we give 30 days’ notice and refund the unused part of your plan pro rata, as set out in the Terms of Service.

8. How to ask for a refund

  • Through Paddle: look up your order at https://paddle.net with the email address you paid with, and request a refund there.
  • From us: write to support@cuditing.com with your order number (shown on your Paddle receipt), your account email and the reason.
  • We reply within 3 business days of receiving your request. Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the payment method you used.

9. How long it takes

  • Once Paddle has issued the refund, it usually reaches your card or account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Refunds are made in the currency you paid in, for the amount you paid including tax. Exchange-rate changes can make the amount on your statement differ from the original charge.
  • A refunded subscription or export payment ends at once; from then on your projects are kept as on the Free plan.
